Scope
GB/T 31392-2022 is the English-translated version of 煤矿矿井水利用技术导则.
GB/T 31392-2022 sets out how the water pumped out of a Chinese coal mine is to be put to use instead of simply discharged.
It gives the general rules for coal mine water utilization and then the technical requirements, including the treatment needed for the mine water of different types of coal mine, together with the management and monitoring of the scheme.
It defines coal mine water itself: the groundwater inflow, surface seepage and production drainage collected during shaft construction and coal mining.
Water quality is referred to other standards, among them GB 3838 for surface water, GB 5749 for drinking water, GB/T 19923 for reclaimed municipal water, GB 20922 for irrigation and GB/T 19223 for the classification of coal mine water.
It replaces GB/T 31392-2015, was issued on 30 December 2022 and has applied since 1 April 2023.
