Scope

GB/T 30579-2022 is the English-translated version of 承压设备损伤模式识别.

GB/T 30579-2022 is the Chinese national standard for identifying the damage modes of pressure equipment.

For each mode it gives the description of the damage and its mechanism, the form it takes, the materials affected, how the mode is recognised, the factors that influence it, the plants and items where it occurs, the main preventive measures, the inspection or monitoring methods that find it, and the other damage that goes with it.

It applies to the damage mode identification of pressure equipment, and not to the failure of seals, of safety interlocks or of pressure relief devices. Refineries and chemical plants, inspection bodies and the engineers who plan a risk-based inspection use it.

It replaces GB/T 30579-2014, was issued on 9 March 2022 and has applied since 1 October 2022.

Foreword

This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for Standardization Work Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents" drafted.

This document replaces GB/T 30579-2014 "Damage Pattern Recognition of Pressure Equipment". Compared with GB/T 30579-2014, except for structural adjustment In addition to the adjustment and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.

a) Changed the definition of environmental cracking in the general provisions (see 4.2, 3.1 of the.2014 edition);

b) Changed the name of organic acid corrosion, and added the relevant description (see 5.8, 4.8 of the.2014 edition);

c) The main influencing factors and main preventive measures of flue gas dew point corrosion are added (see 5.18);

d) Added galvanic corrosion damage mode (see 5.26);

e) Added salt water corrosion damage mode (see 5.27);

f) Added the corrosion damage mode of oxygenated process water (see 5.28);

g) Added the corrosion damage mode of concentration cell (see 5.29);

h) Added ethanol stress corrosion cracking damage mode (see 6.14);

i) Added sulfate stress corrosion cracking damage mode (see 6.15);

j) Added hydrofluoric acid stress corrosion cracking damage mode (see 6.16);

k) The main influencing factors of reheat cracks, the devices or equipment that are prone to occur, and the main preventive measures are added (see 7.13);

l) Added metal thermal aging damage mode (see 7.16);

m) The detection or monitoring method of thermal fatigue (including thermal ratchet) has been added, and the main influencing factors have been revised (see 8.2,.2014 edition of 7.2);

n) Added the damage pattern of scour, affected material and detection or monitoring method (see 8.6);

o) The detection or monitoring method of creep is added (see 8.10);

p) Changed the relevant description of the strain aging damage mode (see 8.11, 7.11 of the.2014 edition);

q) The combustion and explosion damage modes induced by high oxygen-containing gas are added (see 9.10);

r) Changed part of the damage patterns in the damage distribution diagram of the pressure equipment of the typical process complete set (see Appendix B, the appendix of the.2014 edition). record B);

s) Added the damage distribution diagram of coal gasification unit and viscosity reducing unit (see Figure B.23~Figure B.27);

t) Added the recommended process for damage pattern recognition (see Appendix C);

u) The standard number in the grades of commonly used metal materials has been changed (see Appendix D, Appendix C of the.2014 edition);

v) The names and grades of some materials such as Monel 400 and C276 have been changed (see Appendix D, Appendix C of the.2014 edition).

1 Scope

This document gives the damage description and damage mechanism, damage form, affected materials, main damage mode identification of pressure equipment.

Influencing factors, devices or equipment prone to occur, main preventive measures, detection or monitoring methods, other related or accompanying injuries, etc. This document applies to damage pattern recognition of pressure equipment.

This document does not apply to the failure of the seal of the pressure equipment, the failure of the safety interlock device, and the failure of the pressure relief device.

2 Normative references

The contents of the following documents constitute essential provisions of this document through normative references in the text. Among them, dated citations documents, only the version corresponding to that date applies to this document; for undated references, the latest edition (including all amendments) applies to this document.

3 Terms and Definitions

There are no terms and definitions that need to be defined in this document.

4 General provisions

4.1 The damage mentioned in this document refers to the damage caused by the pressure equipment under external mechanical load, medium environment, thermal load, etc. alone or in combination. Degraded material properties, structural discontinuities, or reduced load-carrying capacity.

4.2 This document divides damage modes into the following categories. corrosion thinning, environmental cracking, material deterioration, mechanical damage, which have not yet been classified into the above damage categories Others are included in other damages, and the damage mode index of pressure equipment is shown in Appendix A. The damage categories are divided as follows.

a) Corrosion thinning. The wall thickness is thinned due to mass loss of metal under the action of corrosive medium.

b) Environmental cracking. the cracking of the material under the action of the service environment. Environmental cracking mainly includes stress corrosion cracking, and hydrogen infiltration Caused by hydrogen bulging and hydrogen-induced cracking.

c) Material deterioration. The microstructure and mechanical/corrosion resistance of the material are degraded due to the service environment.

d) Mechanical damage. The bearing capacity of the material decreases under the action of mechanical load or thermal load.

e) Other damages. damage patterns not classified into the above four categories.

4.3 There are differences between individual injuries and sometimes do not fully match the typical injuries described in this document. When there are multiple injuries or When damage is coupled, it is necessary to identify the dominant damage or the coupling effect of the damage.

4.4 This document starts from damage description and damage mechanism, damage form, affected materials, main influencing factors, prone devices and equipment, main Eight aspects of preventive measures, methods of detection or monitoring, and other related or concomitant injuries are described. Typical Process Packages Under Pressure See Appendix B for the equipment damage distribution map.

4.5 Personnel or teams engaged in damage pattern recognition shall have relevant foundations in materials science, corrosion and protection, chemical technology, mechanics, monitoring and testing, etc.
