Scope
GB/T 19836-2019 is the English-translated version of 电动汽车仪表.
GB/T 19836-2019 is the Chinese national standard for the instrumentation of electric vehicles, in the edition that takes in the 2022 amendment No. 1. It specifies the indication or display content that is particular to an electric vehicle and applies to electric vehicles.
It covers the drivable mode, the drivable mileage, the instantaneous power of the drive system and of the brake energy recovery system, the limiting of drive power, the state of charge of the rechargeable energy storage device, the charging state for both conductive and wireless charging, and the fault warning.
Several of these requirements are referred back to GB/T 18384.2-2015. It cites GB/T 18384.2-2015, GB/T 19596 and GB/T 24549-2009. It replaces GB/T 19836-2005, was issued on 18 October 2019 and has applied since 1 May 2020.

Foreword
This Standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009. This Standard replaces GB/T 19836-2005 "Instrumentation for electric vehicles". Compared with GB/T 19836-2005, main technical changes are as follows.
- modified the scope of the standard (see Clause 1 of this Edition);
- deleted the category of the instrumentation (see Clause 3 of Edition 2005);
- added the terms and definitions (see Clause 3 of this Edition);
- deleted the general requirements for the instrumentation (see Clause 4 of Edition 2005);
- added the indication or display contents (see Clause 4 of this Edition).
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the unique indication or display content of the instrumentation for electric vehicle.
This Standard is applicable to the electric vehicle (hereinafter referred to as "the vehicle").

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions defined in GB/T 18384.2-2015, GB/T 19596 and QC/T 213 as well as the followings apply.
4 Indication or display content
4.1 Drivable mode
When the electric vehicle is at the drivable mode, the requirements for indication or display of the vehicle instrumentation shall meet the requirements in 4.1 of GB/T 18384.2-2015.
4.2 Drivable mileage
4.3 Vehicle instantaneous power
4.3.1 Instantaneous power of drive system
4.3.1.1 When the drive systems of pure electric vehicle and fuel cell electric vehicle have power output, the vehicle instrumentation shall indicate or display the output instantaneous power of vehicle drive system. The available remaining power of the vehicle drive system shall be indicated or displayed at the same time.
4.3.2 Instantaneous power of brake energy recovery system
4.3.2.1 For the electric vehicle that has brake energy recovery system, its instrumentation shall be able to indicate or display the instantaneous power recycled by the vehicle energy storage system.
4.4 Drive power limit
When the drive system power of electric vehicle is limited or reduced, the requirements for the indication or display of vehicle instrumentation shall meet relevant requirements of 4.3.1 in GB/T 18384.2-2015.
4.5 Remaining energy of vehicle energy storage device
4.5.1 The instrumentation of the pure electric vehicle, the plug-in hybrid electric vehicle shall be able to indicate or display the state of charge of the rechargeable energy storage device (without auxiliary battery). The indication or display mode and accuracy shall comply with the provisions of vehicle manufacturer.
4.6 Charging state
4.6.1 When the electric vehicle is in the conductive charging, the vehicle instrumentation shall be able to indicate or display the connection state of the vehicle and the charging connection device.
4.6.2 When the electric vehicle is in wireless charging, the vehicle instrumentation shall be able to indicate or display the coupling state of primary equipment and secondary equipment.
4.6.3 The vehicle instrumentation shall be able to indicate or display the real-time state of vehicle charging (for example, the charge state of the rechargeable energy storage device, charged energy or estimated charge completion time).
4.7 Fault warning
When one or more faults appear, the vehicle instrumentation shall indicate or display fault warning signal. […]
