Scope

GB/T 19466.1-2025 is the English-translated version of 塑料 差示扫描量热(DSC)法 第1部分:通则.

Differential scanning calorimetry, or DSC, is widely used to study the thermal behaviour of plastics. This standard is Part 1 of the DSC series and sets out general principles. The other parts of the series deal with specific measurements, while this one provides the common basis for them. It is a recommended national standard.

Polymer manufacturers, converters, university and industrial laboratories, instrument vendors and quality assurance teams working with thermal analysis are its natural readers. Anyone writing a laboratory method for DSC on plastics will find that general principles shared across measurements are collected here.

The 2025 edition was issued on 2 December 2025 and took effect on 1 July 2026, so it is already in force. It replaces GB/T 19466.1-2004. Laboratories that still follow the earlier edition should check their methods against the current text.
