Foreword

This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for standardization work Part

1.Structure and drafting rules for standardization documents" Drafting. This document is Part 2 of GB/T 18266 "Classification of sports venues". GB/T 18266 has been published in the following parts.

1.Classification and evaluation of star ratings for bowling alleys;

3.Star rating and evaluation of swimming pools;

4.Natural climbing sites;

5.Star rating and evaluation of ski resorts. This document replaces GB/T 18266.2-2002 "Classification of sports venues Part

2.Classification and evaluation of gymnasium star ratings" Compared with GB/T 18266.2-2002, in addition to structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:

a) Added a chapter on "Division Principles" (see Chapter 4);

b) The basic requirements for gymnasiums have been changed (see 5.1, Chapter 5 of the.2002 edition);

c) Added the basic conditions that gyms and operating entities should meet (see 5.2);

d) Changed the "Star Rating" by deleting the two-star and one-star ratings and adding information related to the "Star Rating Symbol" (See 6.1,

4.1 of the.2002 edition);

e) Changed the "classification basis" of star rating, added "required conditions" for each star-rated gym, and increased the number of points required for each star-rated gym (See 6.2.1, 6.2.2, and

4.2 of the.2002 edition);

1 Scope

GB/T 18266.2-2025 is the Chinese national standard on ranking standard for sports facilities - part 2:gymnasium, in the field of domestic and commercial equipment, entertainment, sport. The /T suffix marks it as a recommended standard: it is not compulsory by itself, but it becomes binding as soon as a contract, a tender or a customer specification calls it up - which in practice is how most foreign buyers meet it. It was issued on 30 June 2025 by the State Administration for Market Regulation; Standardization Administration of China, and has been in force since 1 January 2026. 3 Terms and Definitions
