Scope
GB/T 18263-2023 is the English-translated version of 人造板机械 热压机术语.
GB/T 18263-2023 is the Chinese national vocabulary for the hot presses used to make wood-based panels. It defines the terms for the machine as a whole, for its main components and for the typical hot pressing process, and it applies to the design, manufacture, trade, teaching, research and publishing work that involves these machines.
The hot press is defined as machinery that uses hydraulic oil as the pressure medium and steam, heat transfer oil or water as the heating medium to press and heat panel mats until they glue into shape, and the terms separate periodic from continuous presses, single-opening from multi-opening, vertical from horizontal, and continuous flat, roller and extrusion presses.
The document declares that it has no normative references. It replaces GB/T 18263-2000, was issued on 23 May 2023 and has applied since the same day.
