Scope
GB/T 14561-2019 is the English-translated version of 消火栓箱.
GB/T 14561-2019 is the Chinese national standard for fire hydrant cabinets, the boxes fitted to the indoor fire hydrant water supply systems of buildings. It gives the terms and definitions, including the double-configuration cabinet, and the classification and model designation, starting from the hanging type and the hose-reel type.
It sets the requirements for the fire-fighting equipment configured inside, the appearance quality, dimensions and limit deviations, the material, the cabinet stiffness, the box door, the placement of the fire hose, the connectivity and the spray performance, together with the performance and dimensions of the equipment in the box.
It then gives the matching test methods, the type and factory inspection rules, the marking, and the instruction manual, packaging, transport and storage provisions.
It replaces GB 14561-2003, was issued on 10 December 2019 and has applied since 1 April 2020.

Foreword
This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This standard replaces GB/T 14561-2003 "Fire Hydrant Box". Compared with GB/T 14561-2003, the main technical features are in addition to editorial changes. The technical changes are as follows.
--- Revised normative references (see Chapter 2, Chapter 2 of the 2003 edition);
--- Modified the basic parameters of the fire hydrant box and the fire equipment in the box (see Table 1, Table 1 of the 2003 edition);
--- Modified the performance requirements of fire equipment in the box (see Chapter 5, Chapter 5 of the 2003 edition);
--- Modified the requirements for electrical equipment (see 5.9.6.1, 2003 version 5.7);
--- Added requirements for fire hydrant boxes with emergency lighting equipment (see 5.9.6.2);
--- Modified the test method of the fire equipment in the box (see Chapter 6, Chapter 6 of the 2003 edition);
--- Increased the requirements for luminous signs (see Chapter 8, Chapter 8 of the 2003 edition).
1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, classifications and models, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, signs, instruction manuals, Packaging, transportation and storage.
This standard applies to fire hydrant boxes for indoor fire hydrant water supply systems in buildings.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Fire hydrant cabinet
It is fixedly installed on the fire-fighting water supply pipeline in the building. It consists of box doors, boxes, indoor fire hydrants, fire interfaces, fire hoses, and fire water.
It is a box-type fire-fighting device with functions of water supply, fire extinguishing, control and alarm.
3.2 Double configuration type fire hydrant box
The indoor fire hydrant, fire hose and fire hydrant in the box are two fire hydrant boxes.
