Foreword
This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part
1.Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents". Drafting. This document replaces GB/T 13407-1992 "Terminology for Submersibles and Underwater Devices". Compared with GB/T 13407-1992, the only differences are in the structural design. Aside from integration and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:
a) Change "submersible structure" to "submersible structural system" (see 3.1.3,
2.3 of the.1992 edition);
b) Change "submersible systems and equipment" to "submersible mechanical systems", "submersible electrical systems", "submersible acoustic systems", or "submersible". Surface water system (see 3.1.4~3.1.7,
2.4 in the.1992 edition);
c) Change "Submersible Accidents and Self-Rescue" to "Submersible Operating Modes, Accidents and Self-Rescue" (see 3.1.9,
2.5 of the.1992 edition);
d) Change "submersible testing" to "submersible inspection, testing, and maintenance" (see 3.1.10,
2.6 of the.1992 edition);
e) Add "Submersible Personnel" (see 3.1.11);

3.1.1 Classification of Submersibles
3.1.1.1 Submersible A general term for all kinds of underwater operating equipment.
3.1.1.2 manned submersible Submersibles carrying personnel.
3.1.1.3 Unmanned submersible Submersibles that do not carry personnel.
3.1.1.4 tethered submersible Submersibles equipped with either load-bearing or non-load-bearing cables.
3.1.1.5 Submersibles without load-bearing cables or non-load-bearing cables.
3.1.1.6 An unmanned underwater vehicle that does not carry personnel and is operated remotely by deck personnel.
Note. They are divided into observation-type remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) and operational-type ROVs.
3.1.1.7 Observatory ROV A remotely operated underwater vehicle (ROV) primarily used for underwater photography and real-time monitoring.
3.1.1.8 Work-class ROV Equipped with underwater camera systems, robotic arms, or other working tools, it can monitor underwater equipment in real time and perform maintenance, salvage, cutting, welding, and other tasks.
