Scope
GB/T 42057-2022 is the English-translated version of 潜水器及其承压设备压力试验方法.
GB/T 42057-2022 is the Chinese national method for the short-term hydrostatic external pressure test of submersibles and their pressure-bearing equipment - a test run in water, without inertia or acceleration effects, with the pressure held for less than 24 h.
It fixes the test conditions - testers, object, programme, equipment and environment - then the procedure for pressure shells, buoyancy blocks, composite light shells, oil-filled equipment, watertight connectors and cables, and for functional tests under pressure, including static energisation of electrical equipment, dynamic running of mechanical and hydraulic systems and the pressure test of power batteries.
Each specifies the pre-test requirements, test pressure, loading and unloading procedure and post-test inspection. It also covers test suspension and termination, the assessment of results and the test report. Issued on 12 October 2022, it has applied since the same date.

Foreword
This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for Standardization Work Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents" drafted.
1 Scope
This document specifies the test purpose, test conditions, test content and requirements, and evaluation of test results for the pressure test of submersibles and their pressure-bearing equipment. and test reports.
This document applies to short-term hydrostatic external pressure tests of submersibles and their pressure-bearing equipment. Short-term still water for other subsea installations and their pressure-containing equipment The external pressure test can be carried out with reference to this document.
Note 1. The submersible and its pressure-bearing equipment include the equipment parts on the submersible that are subjected to external pressure, and the submersible system or equipment with certain functions. The equipment parts include Pressure shells, buoyancy blocks, composite light shells, oil-filled pressure equipment and watertight connectors and cables, etc.
Note 2. The short-term hydrostatic external pressure test is the external pressure that does not consider the effect of inertia and acceleration, the test medium is water, and the test pressure holding time is less than 24h test.

3 Terms and Definitions
Definitions and the following terms and Definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Submersible
A general term for all kinds of underwater running equipment.
Note: Submersibles include manned submersibles and unmanned submersibles. Manned submersibles are submersibles that carry passengers, usually including operational manned submersibles, deep diving rescue Lifeboats, underwater excursion boats, diving bells, life-saving bells, single-person atmospheric pressure diving suits and dual-function submersibles, etc.; unmanned submersibles are submersibles that do not carry passengers.
Often includes remotely operated submersibles, autonomous submersibles, underwater gliders and towed submersibles. [Source: GB/T 40073-2021, 3.1]
3.2 Pressure shell pressurehul
Pressure-resistant structures capable of withstanding external/internal pressure on submersibles (3.1) and other underwater installations for housing personnel and equipment. [Source: GB/T 13407, 2.3.1, with modifications]
