Foreword

This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part

1.Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents". Drafting. This document supersedes GB/T 12926-1991 "Shipbuilding Technology Terminology and Shipbuilding Quality Inspection" and is consistent with GB/T 12926-1991. Compared to previous versions, aside from structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:

a) Change the term "disassembly and inspection" to "disassembly and testing" (see 3.1.4,

2.4 of the.1991 edition);

b) Change the term "Marine Product Approval Certificate" to "Marine Product Approval Certificate" (see 3.1.8,

2.7 of the.1991 edition);

c) Change the term "shipyard assembly inspection" to "shipyard/dock assembly inspection" (see 3.2.20,

3.17 of the.1991 edition);

d) Change the term "load line marking and water level inspection" to "load line marking and water level survey" (see 3.2.25,.1991 edition). 3.22);

e) Change the term "human emergency steering test" to "emergency steering test" (see 3.3.10,

4.10 of the.1991 edition);

f) Change the term "cargo hatch assembly inspection" to "cargo hatch installation inspection" (see 3.3.12,

4.16 of the.1991 edition);

g) Change the term "lifting equipment lifting load test" to "lifting equipment lifting load test" (see 3.3.14,

1 Scope

GB/T 12926-2025 is the Chinese national standard on terminology for ship technology - ship construction quality inspection, in the field of shipbuilding and marine structures. The /T suffix marks it as a recommended standard: it is not compulsory by itself, but it becomes binding as soon as a contract, a tender or a customer specification calls it up - which in practice is how most foreign buyers meet it. It was issued on 31 October 2025 by the State Administration for Market Regulation; Standardization Administration of China, and has been in force since 1 May 2026. Classification: ICS 47.020.01, CCS U 04.
