GB/T 11835-2016Rock wool, slag wool and their products for thermal insulation (English PDF)

Foreword

This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.

This standard replaces GB/T 11835-2007 Rock wool, slag wool and their products for thermal insulation. Compared with GB/T 11835-2007, the main technical changes, apart from editorial changes, are as follows:

- the scope of application of the standard has been modified and the scope of non-application has been added (see Clause 1; Clause 1 of the 2007 edition);

- the terms rock wool belt, slag wool belt, faced rock wool mat and faced slag wool mat have been deleted, and the terms faced rock wool product, faced slag wool product, stitched mat and linear shrinkage at specified temperature have been added (see 3.1, 3.2, 3.3; 3.1, 3.2 of the 2007 edition);

- the product classification has been modified (see 4.2; 4.2 of the 2007 edition);

- requirements for the acidity coefficient and the linear shrinkage at specified temperature of rock wool products and slag wool products have been added (see 5.2.1);

- the requirements for the average fibre diameter and the shot content (particle size greater than 0.25 mm) of wool and products have been modified (see 5.2.2; 5.1 of the 2007 edition);

- the requirements for the density and thermal conductivity of wool have been deleted, and requirements for the acidity coefficient and linear shrinkage at specified temperature of wool have been added (see 5.2.3; 5.2 of the 2007 edition);

- appearance quality requirements for faced boards and faced pipe sections have been added (see 5.2.4.1 and 5.2.6.1; 5.3.1 and 5.6.1 of the 2007 edition);

- the format of the tables has been modified (see Table 2 to Table 8; Table 2 to Table 4 and Table 6 to Table 10 of the 2007 edition);

- the length, width and thickness of boards, mats and stitched mats have been deleted (see Table 2 and Table 4; Table 2 and Table 6 of the 2007 edition);

- the permissible dimensional deviations of boards have been modified (see Table 2; Table 2 of the 2007 edition);

- the minimum density value and the permissible density deviation, the thermal conductivity, the reaction to fire performance and other indicators have been modified (see Table 3, Table 5 and Table 8; Table 3, Table 7 and Table 10 of the 2007 edition);

- a rigidity requirement for boards has been added (see Table 2);

- belt products and their requirements have been deleted (5.4 of the 2007 edition);

- the stitch line spacing of stitched mats has been modified, and 'open stitch length' has been changed to 'maximum open stitch length' (see Table 6; Table 8 of the 2007 edition);

- the length of pipe sections has been deleted, and the thickness and inner diameter ranges have been modified (see Table 7; Table 9 of the 2007 edition);

- the requirements for mass moisture absorption and water absorption have been modified (see 5.3.1; 5.7.2 of the 2007 edition);

- the requirements for the evaluation of the maximum service temperature have been modified (see 5.3.2; 5.7.3 of the 2007 edition);

- the requirements for use in covering austenitic stainless steel have been modified (see 5.3.3.2; 5.7.1.2 of the 2007 edition);

- the presentation of the test methods has been changed to presentation by clauses (see 6.2 to 6.18; 6.2 of the 2007 edition);

- Annex D 'Test method for the stitching quality of stitched mats' has been deleted and its content moved into the body text (see 6.13; Annex D of the 2007 edition);

- Annex F 'Inspection items, sampling plan and judgement rules' has been deleted and its content moved into the body text (see 7.1 and 7.3; Annex F of the 2007 edition);

- B.1 Scope in Annex B has been deleted and the test procedure has been modified (see Annex B; Annex B of the 2007 edition);

- C.1 Scope in Annex C has been deleted, and C.3 Specimens, C.4 Test procedure, C.5 Test results and other contents have been modified (see Annex C; Annex C of the 2007 edition);

- Annex E 'Test method for linear shrinkage at specified temperature' has been added (see Annex E).

1 Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, classification and marking, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, and marking, packaging, transportation and storage of rock wool, slag wool and their products for thermal insulation.

This standard is applicable to rock wool, slag wool and their products used on equipment and pipelines.

This standard is not applicable to rock wool, slag wool and their products used in building envelopes, building components and floors.
