Scope
GB 34660-2017 is the English-translated version of 道路车辆 电磁兼容性要求和试验方法.
GB 34660-2017 specifies the electromagnetic emission limits, immunity performance and test methods for road vehicles of categories M, N and L and for their electrical/electronic sub-assemblies (ESAs); category O and other vehicles may refer to it.
Vehicles are tested for radiated emissions and radiated immunity, and ESAs for radiated and conducted emissions and immunity, under a test plan agreed between the testing organisation and the manufacturer.
Vehicle broadband radiated emission limits (quasi-peak, 120 kHz) are 32 dBµV/m rising to 43 dBµV/m over 30 MHz to 1 000 MHz with the 10 m method and 42 to 53 dBµV/m with the 3 m method, with narrowband (average) limits 10 dB lower; vehicles must withstand 30 V/m over more than 90% of 20 MHz to 2 000 MHz and at least 25 V/m elsewhere, and ESA broadband and narrowband limits at 1 m are given as log-frequency functions.
The document then sets out the test methods, type inspection and conformity of production, with informative annexes on determining the applicability of the standard to an ESA and on alternative radiated emission test methods.
All technical content is mandatory except 5.2.3, 5.3.4, 5.4.1.3, 5.5.4 and 5.6.5, and implementation is recommended 24 months after the implementation date for new vehicle types and 36 months for vehicles in production.
