Scope
GB 23757-2009 is the English-translated version of 消防电子产品防护要求.
GB 23757-2009 specifies the protection requirements and the corresponding test methods for fire electronic products installed in general industrial and civil buildings, and also for special-purpose fire electronic products installed in other environments unless their own standards specify otherwise.
The mandatory requirements of Clause 3 cover the enclosure (non-combustible or flame-retardant materials to GB 20286-2006, stated IP rating with at least IP30 for indoor control panels, dust and water protection outdoors, water, abrasion and impact resistance for floor-mounted products), materials (glow-wire tests at 850 °C for insulation holding current-carrying parts and 650 °C for other insulation, needle-flame test for small parts, wiring rated above 105 °C), terminals and protective earthing.
Clause 4 gives the test conditions and methods: enclosure protection degree to GB 4208, an 8 h talcum dust test, a 9 000-revolution Taber abrasion test with wheels made to Annex A, a 1 000 mm steel-ball drop test on floor luminaires, glow-wire and needle-flame flammability tests, flame retardancy, the mechanical strength of screw terminals with the tightening torques of Table 1, and a rain test to GB 16838-2005.
