1 Scope

GB 19272-2024 is the Chinese national standard on safety for outdoor body-building equipment - general requirements, in the field of domestic and commercial equipment, entertainment, sport. It carries no /T suffix, which in the Chinese system means compliance is mandatory: a product or a practice within its scope has to meet it to be lawfully made, sold or carried out in China. It was issued on 28 November 2024 by the State Administration for Market Regulation; Standardization Administration of China, and has been in force since 1 September 2025. Classification: ICS 97.220.40, CCS Y55. This document specifies the general requirements for outdoor fitness equipment (hereinafter referred to as "equipment") and the materials, structural design, space design, functional components, etc. The requirements of components, structural integrity, environmental protection, site and installation, safety warnings and instructions for use, management and maintenance, and aging and child-friendly are described. The verification method should be used. This document applies to the research and development, design, manufacturing, installation, maintenance, inspection and certification of outdoor fitness equipment. This document does not apply to amusement rides.
