Scope
NB/T 20029-2010 is the English-translated version of 核电厂安全重要仪表和控制系统厂房辐射监测.
Plant-wide radiation monitoring is the subject of NB/T 20029-2010, a recommended Chinese energy industry standard modified from IEC 61504-2000 and dealing with instrumentation and control systems important to safety.
It lays down the design principles and performance criteria of a computer-based radiation monitoring system able to monitor process streams, exhaust streams and area radiation together, and states the technical requirements for the system-level components: central computer, subsystem computers and operator consoles.
For detection devices, processing units and alarm units it covers only their interfaces towards the central system, and it gives guidance on data processing, storage and display and on open-architecture communication between distributed monitoring devices.
Design and testing of the detection and measurement devices themselves, purely analog or relay-based installations and wholly centralised systems fall outside it. Issued on 1 May 2010, it has applied since 1 October 2010.
