Scope
NB/T 11529-2024 is the English-translated version of 回采工作面随采地震探测技术.
NB/T 11529-2024 is the Chinese energy industry standard for seismic-while-mining detection on coal mining faces, a technique that takes the vibration of the shearer cutting the coal wall as the seismic source and records it on receiver lines laid in the roadways on both sides of the face.
It addresses data gathering, observation system design including the minimum face-to-receiver distance, acquisition equipment, installation and data collection, data processing with seismic interferometry, geological interpretation and submission of results.
Annexes outline the daily or weekly monitoring report and the final results report. The method serves real-time detection and monitoring of faults, collapse columns, fracture zones and relative stress distribution within the working face. Issued on 24 May 2024, it has applied since 24 November 2024.

1 Scope
This document specifies the data collection, observation system design, acquisition equipment, and equipment installation of seismic detection during mining in underground coal mines. and data collection, data processing, geological interpretation, and submission of results.
This document is applicable to the faults, collapse columns, fracture zones and relative stress distribution in the working face of underground coal mines. Real-time dynamic detection and monitoring.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Seismic-while-mining detection
The vibration generated by the coal mining machine when cutting the coal wall is used as the source of the earthquake. The receiving lines are laid in the tunnels on both sides of the working face to receive the signal.
The vibration data is collected and processed to detect and monitor the geological structure anomalies and relative stress distribution inside the mining face.
3.2 Effective wavefield
The virtual source equivalent wave field is extracted from the vibration signal excited by the coal mining machine source using seismic interferometry technology.
Note: Includes direct wave field and scattered wave field, which can be longitudinal wave, transverse wave or slot wave.
3.3 Minimum mining-face-receiver distance
The shortest distance between the survey line and the coal mining machine working face (see Figure 1).
3.4 Number of receiving points per side
During mining seismic monitoring, the number of measuring points set up in the tunnel on one side of the mining working face.
Collect geological, tunnel exposure and drilling data of the mining face and related areas. Including but not limited to the following information.
4 Data Collection
5 Observation system design
6 Collection Equipment
