Scope
NB/T 11528-2024 is the English-translated version of 矿用无线随钻测量及装置检修技术规程.
NB/T 11528-2024 contains Chinese energy industry regulations for wireless measurement while drilling in underground coal mines and for the upkeep of the measuring devices.
The devices use mud-pulse transmission, sending signals as pressure waves in the flushing fluid along the drill string bore from in-hole equipment (probe, pulse generator, non-magnetic and filter drill rods) to orifice equipment with an explosion-proof computer and pressure sensor.
The standard covers device composition and selection, working conditions, measurement preparation, measurement, troubleshooting, inspection and repair, and recovery, maintenance, storage and transportation.
It applies to mud-pulse measurement in underground directional drilling and to the use, operation, inspection, testing and maintenance of the devices. Issued on 24 May 2024, it has applied since 24 November 2024.

3 Terms and definitions
The terms and definitions defined in NB/T 10173-2019 and the following apply to this document.
3.1 Measurement while drilling
A technology that enables real-time measurement and transmission of bottom hole information during drilling.
3.2 Mud-pulse transmission
During the drilling process, the center hole of the drill string is used as the signal transmission channel and the pressure wave of the flushing fluid is used for signal transmission.
4 Device composition and selection
4.1 Device composition
The device consists of in-hole equipment and orifice equipment.
a) In-hole equipment. It consists of a probe tube, a pulse generator, a probe tube outer tube, a non-magnetic drill rod, a filter drill rod, etc. The probe tube is generally composed of a measuring unit.
It is composed of element, power supply unit, signal generating unit, etc.
b) Orifice equipment. It consists of explosion-proof computer, explosion-proof keyboard, explosion-proof data storage device, explosion-proof pressure sensor, etc.
