Scope

GB/T 3836.13-2021 is the English-translated version of 爆炸性环境 第13部分:设备的修理、检修、修复和改造.

GB/T 3836.13-2021 says how explosion-protected equipment may be repaired, overhauled, reclaimed or modified without losing its protection.

It sets what the user hands over and what the repair shop must run: a quality system, a responsible person, qualified staff, records kept ten years, controlled spare parts, fasteners and seals, and the R marking in a square or an inverted triangle once the work is done.

It then describes the reclamation processes - metal spraying, electroplating, sleeving, brazing and welding, metal stitching, the recovery of threaded holes and re-machining - with limits on metal removal, and adds separate clauses for flameproof, intrinsically safe, pressurized, increased safety, type n, dust, oil immersion, powder filling and special protection equipment, and for trace heating cables.

Encapsulation is excluded. It replaces GB 3836.13-2013, was issued on 11 October 2021 and applies from 1 May 2022.
