Scope

NB/T 11464-2023 is the English-translated version of 带式输送机用断带抓捕装置.

NB/T 11464-2023 applies to broken-belt catchers, devices that grip the belt of a belt conveyor after it breaks so that it cannot slide down. It sets classification and marking, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules and marking, packaging, transportation and storage.

Key performance quantities are defined: catching force, action time from the broken-belt signal to completion of the catch, and action distance, the belt travel while the catch takes place.

Hydraulic system and hose specifications, welding groove rules and noise measurement methods support the requirements. It is used for design, manufacture and inspection of catchers on conveyors in coal and non-coal mines. Issued on 28 December 2023, it has applied since 28 June 2024.

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 Catching force

The catch device holds the conveyor belt tightly, preventing the friction from causing the conveyor belt to slide down.

3.2 Action time

The idle time from when the capture mechanism receives the broken belt signal to when it starts to capture until it completes the capture action.

3.3 Action distance

The sliding distance of the conveyor belt when the capture mechanism is triggered to perform the capture action.
