JB/T 9223-2013 was issued by MIIT on 31 December 2013 and has been in force since 1 July 2014.
It replaces the earlier edition JB/T 9223-1999.
2 Scope
This standard is the recommended machinery industry standard of China for zircon sand and zircon powder used in casting. It defines the terms for these materials, classifies and groups them into grades, and lays down technical requirements, test methods and inspection rules, together with the rules on packaging, marking, transport, storage and the quality certificate that goes with a consignment. Zircon sand and powder for foundry use are the materials within its reach. The standard is filed under Chinese classification J31 and international classification 91.100.15.
