JB/T 8742-2014 was issued by MIIT on 9 July 2014 and has been in force since 1 November 2014.
It replaces the earlier edition JB/T 8742-1998.
2 Scope
Reduction gearboxes for mining electric locomotives are the subject of JB/T 8742-2014, a recommended standard of the Chinese machinery industry. It states the technical conditions the gear transmission of such a locomotive must meet, together with the rules for testing it. Its scope takes in the traction gear transmissions of electric locomotives used in coal mining, in metallurgical mining and in tunnel construction.
