1 Foreword

JB/T 8712-2010 was issued by MIIT on 14 May 2010 and has been in force since 1 October 2010.

It replaces the earlier edition JB/T 8712-1998.

2 Scope

JB/T 8712-2010 is a recommended Chinese machinery industry standard on star wheel speed reducers. It sets the product categories and the basic parameters of the reducer, its technical requirements, the test methods and inspection rules, and the provisions for signs, packaging, transport and storage. It applies to heavy-duty and precision reducer drives in metallurgical, mining, lifting, conveying, construction, chemical and petroleum equipment, and to other devices having star wheel drive transmission characteristics.
