Scope

JB/T 5558-2015 is the English-translated version of 减(增)速器试验方法.

Testing reducers and increasers is the subject of JB/T 5558-2015. The standard sets the requirements for the test piece and for the test equipment, the requirements for the instruments used to measure temperature, noise and vibration in the load test, the test categories and their requirements, and the test data and its processing.

It applies to cylindrical gear, bevel gear, planetary gear and worm gear reducers and increasers, and to various combined units, where the high-speed shaft speed does not exceed 3000 r/min.

The standard replaces JB/T 9050.3-1999 and JB/T 5558-1991 and took effect on 1 October 2015.

Foreword

This Standard was drafted as per the rules specified in GB/T 1.1-2009.

This Standard replaced JB/T 9050.3-1999 Load Test Method of Reduction Cylindrical Gear Units, and JB/T 5558-1991 Worm Reducer Load Test Method. This Standard was mainly based on JB/T 9050.3-1999, and integrated the contents of JB/T 5558-1991. Compared with JB/T 9050.3-1999, this Standard has the major technical changes as follows.

--- Change the standard title into Test Method for Reduction (Increase) Gear Units (see standard title).

--- Expand the scope of application of the standard, adding bevel gear reducers, planetary gear reducers, worm gear reducers, and various combined reducers and increasers (see Clause 1 of this Edition; Clause 1 of the 1999 Edition).

--- Change the description of the test piece requirements (see Clause 3 of this Edition; Clause 3 of the 1999 Edition).

--- Add the provisions for situations where sensors cannot be installed simultaneously on the high-speed and low-speed shafts of the test piece (see 4.2 of this Edition);

--- Delete the provisions regarding adjusting the instrument torque display value and the no-load torque of the test piece (see 4.3 of the 1999 Edition);

--- Add the provisions regarding the measurement accuracy of special temperature test and noise test (see Clause 5 of this Edition);

--- Change the number of stress cycles per tooth of high-speed gears at rated speed and torque in Table 1 (see 6.1 of this Edition; 6.1.1 of the 1999 Edition).

--- Change the provisions regarding product exit-factory and acceptance tests (see 6.3 of this Edition; 6.1.3 of the 1999 Edition);

--- Delete the relevant test qualification indicators (see 6.3 of the 1999 Edition).

1 Scope

This Standard specifies the test methods and data processing methods for reducers (increasers).

This Standard applies to cylindrical gear reducers (increasers), bevel gear reducers (increasers), planetary gear reducers (increasers), worm gear reducers (increasers), and various combined reducers (increasers) with high-speed shaft speeds not exceeding 3000 r/min.

3 Requirements for Test Piece

3.1 General provisions regarding test piece and its quantity

Test pieces are prototypes of products awaiting shipment or newly developed products. The quantity of test piece is determined by the purpose and requirements of the test; or may be determined through negotiation between the user and the manufacturer.

3.2 Material and machining accuracy of test piece

The material, heat treatment, and machining accuracy of the main components in the test piece shall all have testing and certification documents for verification or random inspection when necessary.

4 Requirements for Test Equipment

4.1 Loading test bench

The type of test bench shall be appropriate for the test specimen and the test objective. Various types of open test benches, electrically enclosed test benches [see Figure 1a)], and mechanically enclosed test benches [see Figure 1b)] can be used. For high power applications, electrically enclosed or mechanically enclosed test benches with lower energy consumption shall be preferred. The speed and loading torque of the test bench shall be stable; with fluctuations not exceeding 1% within the sampling time. Loading and unloading shall be permitted during operation; and speed adjustment shall be convenient and flexible.

4.2 Load and speed test instrument

The type of instrument is not limited, but it shall be within the calibration period, and its specifications, range, and accuracy shall be appropriate for the test objective and requirements.

The test accuracy for torque and speed shall not exceed 1% of the reading. Torque-speed sensors and torque-speed measuring instruments shall be preferred. One sensor shall be installed on each of the high-speed and low-speed shafts of the tested reducer (increaser) to directly measure the high-speed shaft speed and torque of the test piece (including only the auxiliary coupling).

When it is not possible to install sensors on both the high-speed and low-speed shafts of the test piece simultaneously, it is permissible to install a sensor only on one end. However, when determining the relevant parameters (such as efficiency, torque, and speed) of the test piece, special attention shall be paid to the influence of various test specimens and testing methods on the results to avoid excessive deviation or distortion of the results.

4.3 Installation and debugging

The main components of the test bench shall be aligned and centered on the test platform to ensure flexible operation. First, perform static zeroing, then dynamic zeroing, ensuring the instrument reading fluctuations remain within the appropriate range.

5 Requirements for Temperature, Noise, and Vibration

Testing Instruments in the Load Test The temperature of the oil bath and bearings of the test piece shall be measured using a calibrated thermometer with a range up to 150°C. For special temperature measurements, various specialized temperature measuring instruments or methods can be used.

Noise testing during the test can be performed using various types of sound level meters, with measurement accuracy meeting Level 2 specified in GB/T 3785.1. When spectral analysis of the noise source is required, an octave band or 1/3 octave band filter-type spectrum analyzer […]
