1 Foreword

JB/T 8502-2015 was issued by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China on 10 October 2015 and has been in force since 1 March 2016.

It replaces the earlier edition JB/T 8502-1996.

2 Scope

This standard is a recommended Chinese machinery industry standard for the filling compounds used in telecommunication cables. It covers the terminology and definitions, the code numbering, the product classification and designation, the technical requirements, the test methods, the inspection rules, the marks and the provisions for packaging, transport and storage of filling pastes and coating compounds. Its main field of application is the paste and compound used in filled polyolefin-sheathed communication cable, and the standard adds that it may also serve for the compounds used with communication cables of other types. Among the standards it quotes are GB/T 260, GB/T 1409-2006, GB/T 2951.11-2008 and YD/T 723.1-2007. It replaces JB/T 8502-1996.
