1 Foreword

JB/T 10260-2014 was issued by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China on 6 May 2014 and has been in force since 1 October 2014.

It replaces the earlier edition JB/T 10260-2001.

2 Scope

This standard is a recommended Chinese machinery industry standard on the insulating compounds used in overhead insulated cables. It fixes the technical requirements for the compound and the test methods that verify them, and it sets the inspection rules along with the provisions for packaging, labelling, transport and storage. It applies to insulating compounds of polyethylene or of an ethylene copolymer. The standard sits under the Chinese classification K13 and the international classification 29.060.20, and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued it. Among the standards it quotes are GB/T 1040.1-2006, GB/T 1408.1-2006, GB/T 1409-2006, GB/T 2951.12-2008, GB/T 5470-2008 and GB/T 14049-2008. It replaces the earlier edition JB/T 10260-2001.
