5 m away from the end of the material; the specimen length shall be no less than 200 mm. Use a single specimen. Measurement accuracy and procedures shall comply with the requirements of GB/T 6672-2001.For single-sided laminated metal plastic strip/foil, respectively measure T2 and T3; for double-sided laminated metal plastic strip/foil, respectively measure T1, T2 and T3, as shown in Figure 2.The thickness of the single-sided or double-sided plastic layer can be respectively calculated in accordance with T1, T2 and T3, while the metal layer thickness is given by T3. Six points evenly distributed on each specimen shall be measured; if any of these six points fails to meet the requirements, the test is considered a failure.

Figure 2 -- Schematic Diagram of Thickness Measurement

5.2.3 Width

For slit laminated metal plastic strip/foil, use a vernier caliper with a minimum division value of 0.02 mm for measurement. For unslit laminated metal plastic strip/foil, use a steel ruler for measurement and record the width of the metal layer as the measurement result. The specimen length shall be no less than 1,000 mm. Use a single specimen. Six points evenly distributed on each specimen shall be measured; if any of these six points fails to meet the requirements, the test is considered a failure.

5.2.4 Length
5.2.4.1 During manufacturing, use a length counter for measurement. The measurement error

for length shall be within the range of 0% to 1%.

5.2.4.2 Measurement by weighing method. for slit laminated metal plastic strip/foil, cut a

specimen with a length of (1,000 ± 2) mm and a width equal to the slit width; use a balance with a minimum division value of 0.1 g for measurement and record the weight as G0.Use a platform scale with a minimum division value of 100 g to weigh the net weight of a full reel of the laminated metal plastic strip/foil and record it as G. Then, calculate the length L of the laminated metal plastic strip/foil in accordance with Formula (1).

Where,

L---the length of the laminated metal plastic strip/foil, expressed in (m);

G---the net weight of a reel of laminated metal plastic strip/foil, expressed in (kg);

G0---the weight per 1,000 mm of the laminated metal plastic strip/foil, expressed in (g/m).

For unslit laminated metal plastic strip/foil, cut a specimen with a length of (100 ± 0.5) mm and a width equal to that of the laminated metal plastic strip/foil; use a balance with a minimum division value of 0.1 g to weigh it and record the result as G01; use a platform scale with a minimum division value of 100 g to weigh the net weight of a reel of the laminated metal plastic strip/foil and record the result as G1; then, calculate the length L of the laminated metal plastic strip/foil in accordance with Formula (2).

5.3 Tensile Strength, Yield Strength, and Elongation at Break

Tensile strength, yield strength, and elongation at break shall be tested in accordance with GB/T

228-2002.

The specimen width is 25.4 mm; for laminated stainless steel plastic strip specimens, the width is 12.5 mm, with a length of 150 mm and an original gauge length of 50 mm. When the actual width of the slit laminated metal plastic strip/foil is less than the specified value, specimens with the actual slit width may be used for testing. Six specimens shall be tested. The tensile rate is (50 ± 10) mm/min. Tensile strength and yield strength shall be calculated based on the cross- sectional area of the metal layer, and the upper yield strength value shall be taken as the yield strength. Elongation at break shall be calculated at the point of metal fracture. Test results shall be expressed as the average value of the six specimens.

5.4 Peel Strength

5.4.1 Specimen

Take six specimens along the longitudinal direction of the laminated metal plastic strip/foil, each with a length of 150 mm and a width of (25.4 ± 0.2) mm. Separate the plastic layer from the metal layer. When separating, use a knife to make a scratch 20 mm away from the end of the specimen. For single-sided laminated metal plastic strip/foil, make a distinct mark on the metal surface. For double-sided laminated metal plastic strip/foil, make a scratch on one surface and ensure it penetrates the plastic layer and leaves a distinct mark on the metal surface.

Repeatedly bend at the scratch to cause the metal layer to break and separate the plastic layer from the metal layer. If separation is not easy, immerse the specimen end in an appropriate solvent for treatment.

5.4.2 Peel strength between metal layer and plastic layer

Follow the provisions of GB/T 8808-1988.The tensile rate is (300 ± 50) mm/min.

5.4.3 Calculation of peel strength

Take the stable value of the tensile peel force as the data for calculating the peel strength of this specimen.

NOTE. when the plastic layer or metal layer breaks during the test, specimen shall be re-prepared, and the test be conducted. If the plastic layer or metal layer still breaks, record the breaking value as the test value and indicate it in the results.

5.4.4 Determination of specimen peel strength

Take the arithmetic mean of the peel strengths of the 6 specimens as the test result. For double- sided laminated metal plastic strip/foil, conduct tests on both A and B surfaces of the same specimen and separately provide the test results.

5.5 Shear Strength

5.5.1 Test equipment

5.5.1.1 Press machine. the template can be heated up to 250 °C, with a temperature error of ±

2 °C.

5.5.1.2 Tensile testing machine. the indication range is 0 ~ 2,000 N, and the allowable error shall not exceed ±10% of the indication. It shall be equipped with flat jaws, with a width of no less than 26 mm.

5.5.1.3 Precision specimen knife. it can cut out specimens of 150 mm × 25.4 mm.

5.5.2 Specimen preparation
5.5.2.1 Cut three specimens along the transverse direction of the laminated metal plastic

strip/foil, each with a length of 150 mm and a width of 25.4 mm. Mark surface A and surface

B. Cut each specimen into two sections of 75 mm in length, and stack them in accordance with the dimensions shown in Figure 2 to form a 161 mm² overlapping area. If the laminated metal plastic strip/foil is double-sided, the plastic layer on surface A is overlapped with the plastic layer on surface B. If it is single-sided, there is no plastic layer on surface B, and the plastic layer on surface A is overlapped with the plastic layer on surface A.

5.5.2.2 Use a 3 mm-wide adhesive tape to fix the overlapping area and position it. Preheat the press machine to 150 °C ± 2 °C (for copolymer films) or 200 °C ± 2 °C (for polyethylene films).

Place the specimen in the press machine, with the end of the specimen protruding about 25 mm from the press plate.

5.5.2.3 Close the press machine, until the pressure gauge shows an indication, or the pressing pressure is (280 ± 5) kPa, and the press holding time is (5 ± 0.1) seconds. Open the press machine and remove the specimen. The specimen shall be cooled to room temperature in a normal environment and the adhesive tape used for fixation shall be removed. To avoid the laminated plastic layer of the specimen adhering to the film plate of the press machine, the specimen can be placed between a polyester film or other appropriate materials that do not cause adhesion with the laminated plastic layer.
