YD/T 6486-2025 is the English-translated version of 面向人工智能的数据集质量通用评估方法总体要求.

YD/T 6486-2025 is the Chinese telecommunications industry standard that sets the overall requirements for assessing the quality of the data sets used to train and evaluate artificial intelligence systems. It is the first part of a general assessment method: it fixes the framework - what a data set has to be measured on before it is used to build a model - rather than the detailed metrics of a particular domain. The subject matters commercially because a Chinese operator or AI supplier procuring or delivering a training data set is increasingly asked to show that its quality has been assessed against a published method, and because data set quality is the part of an AI system that regulation can inspect without inspecting the model itself. It was issued on 2 July 2025 by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and comes into force on 1 November 2025.
