1 Foreword

JB/T 12945-2016 was issued by MIIT on 22 October 2016 and has been in force since 1 April 2017.

2 Scope

This standard is a recommended Chinese machinery industry standard covering large cross universal couplings with a welded intermediate shaft, of the kind used on the roughing stands of hot strip tandem mills. It lays down the structural types, the basic parameters and the main dimensions, the joint types and their parameters and the product designation, followed by the technical requirements, the inspection rules and the provisions for marking, packaging, transport and storage. Its subject is the coupling in the main drive of the roughing mill on a hot strip line.
