HG/T 3539-2012 is the English-translated version of 工业循环冷却水中铁含量的测定 邻菲啰啉分光光度法.
HG/T 3539-2012 is the Chinese chemical industry standard, of recommended status, that describes how low levels of iron in industrial circulating cooling water are determined by spectrometry with 1,10-phenanthroline. Total iron, soluble iron and ferrous iron are all covered by it. The method is written for iron contents between 5 µg/L and 50 µg/L, and it extends to boiler water as well. GB/T 602-2002 and GB/T 6682-2008 are its normative references. It replaces HG/T 3539-2003, one of a group of cooling water methods revised together. Issued on 7 November 2012, it has applied since 1 March 2013.
