Foreword

This document was drafted in accordance with GB/T 1.1-2020, Directives for standardization - Part 1: Rules for the structure and drafting of standardizing documents.

This document is part 7 of GB/T 713, Steel plate, sheet and strip for pressure equipment, which has been published in seven parts: Part 1 General requirements; Part 2 Non-alloy and alloy steel with specified temperature properties; Part 3 Low alloy steel with specified low temperature properties; Part 4 Nickel-alloy steels with specified low temperature properties; Part 5 High manganese steel with specified low temperature properties; Part 6 Quenched and tempered high strength steel; Part 7 Stainless steel and heat resisting steel.

This document replaces GB/T 24511-2017, Stainless steel and heat resisting steel plate, sheet and strip for pressure equipment. Besides structural and editorial changes, the main technical changes are: a) the lower limit of the thickness of cold-rolled steel plates and strips is changed from 1.5 mm to 0.30 mm; b) the designations, chemical compositions and mechanical properties of five austenitic, three ferritic and two duplex stainless steels are added; c) the chemical composition of three duplex stainless steel designations is changed; d) the strength and elongation after break of some austenitic stainless steels are changed and the impact performance is added; e) the surface condition requirements of BA stainless steel are added.

1 Scope

This document specifies the ordering content, classification and code, size, shape, weight, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking and quality certificate of stainless steel and heat-resistant steel plates and strips for pressure equipment.

This document is applicable to hot-rolled stainless steel and heat-resistant steel plates and strips, including coiled steel plates, and to cold-rolled stainless steel and heat-resistant steel plates and strips, including coiled steel plates, for pressure equipment with a width of not less than 600 mm.

2 Normative references

The contents of the following documents constitute essential provisions of this document through normative references in the text. For dated references only the edition cited applies; for undated references the latest edition, including all amendments, applies.

The document cites the GB/T 223 series for the chemical analysis of iron, steel and alloys - among them GB/T 223.5 for acid-soluble and total silicon, GB/T 223.9 for aluminium, GB/T 223.11 for chromium and GB/T 223.18 for copper - together with GB/T 708 and GB/T 709 for the dimensions of cold and hot rolled products, GB/T 713.1 for the general requirements of the series, and the mechanical and corrosion test methods for stainless steel.

3 Terms and definitions

The terms and definitions given in GB/T 713.1 apply to this document.

4 Ordering content

4.1 The ordering content shall comply with the provisions of GB/T 713.1.

4.2 The ordering content shall also include the surface processing type, see 7.7.1.

5 Classification and code

5.1 According to edge status the product is divided into trimmed edge (EC) and untrimmed edge (EM).

5.2 According to dimensional accuracy it is divided into ordinary thickness accuracy (PT.A) and high thickness accuracy (PT.B).

6 Dimensions, shape, weight

6.1.1 The nominal size range of steel plates and strips is given in Table 1, and the recommended nominal sizes follow GB/T 708 and GB/T 709. Hot-rolled thick steel plate: nominal thickness 6.00 mm to 100 mm, nominal width 600 mm to 4800 mm. Hot-rolled steel plate and strip: 2.00 mm to 14.0 mm thick, 600 mm to 2100 mm wide. Cold-rolled steel plate and strip: 0.30 mm to 8.00 mm thick, 600 mm to 2100 mm wide. For the ferritic stainless steels 019Cr23Mo2Ti, 019Cr23MoTi and 022Cr27Ni2Mo4NbTi the nominal thickness range is 0.30 mm to 3.0 mm.

6.1.2 The thickness tolerance of hot-rolled thick steel plate is given in Table 2, and the following subclauses give the tolerances of the hot-rolled and cold-rolled products, the width and length tolerances and the requirements on shape and weight.
