GB/T 14164-2026 is the English-translated version of 石油天然气输送管用热轧宽钢带.

GB/T 14164-2026 is the Chinese national standard covering the hot rolled coil from which spiral and longitudinally welded line pipe is made - the same grades and toughness requirements as plate, but delivered as strip and therefore with the additional question of consistency along a kilometre of coil. It replaces GB/T 14164-2013 and has been in force since 1 November 2026, with the plate standard GB/T 21237-2026 revised in the same period. It was issued on 30 April 2026 and takes effect on 1 November 2026, replacing GB/T 14164-2013. The document is under the responsibility of the China Iron and Steel Association. 7.1 Chemical composition

7.1.1 The chemical composition (smelting and finished product analysis) of conventional PSL1 steel shall conform to the provisions of Table 2.

7.1.2 The chemical composition (smelting and finished product analysis) of conventional PSL2 steel shall conform to the provisions of Table 3.

7.1.3 The chemical composition (smelting and product analysis) of acid-resistant steel plates and strips shall comply with the provisions of B.1 in Appendix B.

7.1.4 The supplier only provides smelting analysis, but guarantees that it meets the product analysis requirements. If the user requires product analysis results, the two parties shall discuss this separately. Sure.

7.2 Carbon Equivalent

7.3.3 Drop hammer tear

7.3.4 Hardness

7.3.4.1 Table 8 provides reference values for the maximum permissible hardness (HV10) on the transverse cross section of conventional PSL2 steel plates and strips.

7.3.4.2 The hardness properties of acid-resistant steel plates and strips shall comply with the provisions of B.4.

7.3.4.3 For the hardness test of steel plates and strips, samples shall be taken at one-quarter of the width, and after polishing, the hardness shall be determined according to GB/T 4340.1. 7.6 Band-like tissue

7.7 Surface Quality

7.7.2 Other local defects that do not affect the use of the steel plate and steel strip may exist on the surface, but the minimum thickness of the steel strip shall be guaranteed.

7.7.3 For steel strips delivered without trimming, the depth of edge cracks and other defects in the width direction should not exceed one-third of the allowable width tolerance. Half, and the minimum width of the steel strip should be guaranteed.

7.7.4 Since there is no opportunity to remove defects from the steel strip, some defective sections may exist, but they should not exceed 6% of the total length.

7.7.5 Welding repairs are not permitted on the surfaces of steel plates and strips. Sheared steel plates may be ground and cleaned, but the minimum thickness of the sheared steel plate must be maintained. The ground areas... It should be smooth and without sharp edges.

7.7.6 As determined by the supplier and the buyer through consultation, GB/T 14977 may also be used as a reference to determine the defect depth and affected area.

7.8 Dimensions, shape, and weight

7.8.1 The dimensions, shape, weight and permissible deviations of steel plates and strips shall conform to the provisions of GB/T 709.

7.8.2 Based on the buyer's requirements, the supplier and buyer shall negotiate and determine the specifications in the contract. Other sizes, shapes, and permissible deviations of steel plates may also be supplied. Steel strip.

7.9 Other Requirements The hydrogen-induced cracking (HIC) test and hydrogen sulfide stress corrosion test (SSC) test of acid-resistant steel plates and strips shall comply with the provisions of B.5.

8 Test Methods

8.1 The test methods for the chemical composition of steel shall generally be in accordance with GB/T 223 (all parts), GB/T 4336, GB/T 20123, GB/T 20125 or Other general methods shall be followed, and the arbitration shall be determined by the supply and demand parties through negotiation.

8.2 The inspection items and test methods for steel plates and strips shall comply with the provisions of Table 11.

9 Inspection Rules

9.1 The inspection and acceptance of steel plates shall be carried out by the supplier's technical quality inspection department.

9.2 Steel plates and strips shall be inspected in batches. Each batch shall consist of steel plates and strips of the same grade, from the same smelting furnace, of the same thickness, and rolled into the same material. Composed of steel strips.

9.3 The sampling quantity, sampling method and sampling location of steel plates and steel strips shall comply with the provisions of Table 11.

9.4 The rules for re-inspection and judgment of steel plates and strips shall comply with the provisions of GB/T 17505.

9.5 The test results of chemical composition and mechanical properties shall be obtained by rounding comparison method, and the rules for rounding shall comply with the provisions of GB/T 8170.
