Scope

GB/T 6970-2025 is the English-translated version of 粮食干燥机试验方法.

GB/T 6970-2025 is the Chinese national standard covering testing a grain dryer — the moisture removal per hour and the energy it costs, the uniformity of the dried grain, the breakage and the germination the heat cost, the temperature of the grain rather than of the air, and the measurement points. It replaces GB/T 6970-2007, and it belongs with the recirculating dryer standard GB/T 46299-2025. In force from 1 May 2026. Issued on 5 October 2025, it has been in force since 1 May 2026, replacing GB/T 6970-2007.

Foreword

This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents". Drafting.

This document replaces GB/T 6970-2007 "Test Methods for Grain Dryers". Compared with GB/T 6970-2007, the main differences are structural adjustments and...

Aside from editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.

a) The terms "drying capacity" and "severe cracking of rice" have been removed (see 3.1 and 3.2 in the 2007 edition);

b) The "Experimental Principles" section (see 4.1 in the 2007 edition) has been removed;

c) Added regulations for supporting equipment, revised the requirements for raw rice, wheat, and corn used in the experiment, and deleted the regulations for the low calorific value of coal (see...). 4.1 (4.2 in the 2007 edition)

d) The commissioning requirements for continuous grain dryers and circulating grain dryers have been modified (see 4.2, 4.3 in the 2007 edition);

e) The sampling location for raw grain entering the machine has been changed, and the sampling method for measuring drying unevenness in circulating grain dryers has been changed (see...). 4.3 (4.4 in the 2007 edition)

f) The requirements for determining the data of incoming raw grain samples have been changed (see 4.4, 4.5 in the 2007 edition);

g) The criteria for measuring workplace dust concentration and noise have been changed, and the test procedure requirements for circulating grain dryers have been changed (see...). 4.5 (4.6 in the 2007 edition)

h) The calculation and testing methods for some indicators in the experimental data processing have been changed (see 4.6, 4.7 in the 2007 version);

i) The section "Productivity and Unit Heat Consumption Conversion" has been removed (see 4.8 in the 2007 edition);

j) Increased reliability requirements (see 5.4);

k) Added requirements for test report preparation (see 6.1).
