Scope
GB/T 46160-2025 is the English-translated version of 水下挖沟犁作业系统通用技术要求.
GB/T 46160-2025 is the Chinese national standard for underwater trenching plough operation systems, the towed ploughs that a mother vessel pulls and controls to bury cables and pipes on the seabed.
It sets out the function and composition of the system, then the technical requirements for environmental adaptability, appearance and corrosion protection, power supply, pressure, safety protection, electromagnetic compatibility, interfaces and performance, and the test method that goes with each of them.
It also fixes the inspection rules, with type inspection, factory inspection, inspection items and how conformity is decided, and the marking, packaging, transport and storage of the system.
It defines the trenching plough itself and the cableway unit that guides the buried cable or pipe. It applies to the manufacture and inspection of underwater trenching ploughs. Issued on 29 August 2025, it has applied since 1 March 2026.
