GB/T 44026-2024 is the Chinese technical specification for containerised lithium-ion battery energy storage systems: the prefabricated cabin, usually the size of a shipping container, that arrives on a lorry with the racks, the battery management, the thermal management, the fire protection and the power conversion already inside. Almost all grid storage in China is now built this way, because a factory-built container is cheaper, faster and more repeatable than an assembled building, and the whole safety case travels with the unit rather than being made on site. The standard sets the classification and coding, the normal service conditions, the requirements on the appearance, the dimensions and the degree of protection of the enclosure, the functional requirements, the performance requirements, and the requirements on the equipment and components within, together with the test methods, the inspection rules and the marking, packaging, transport and storage.
