Scope

GB/T 41514-2022 is the English-translated version of 钢结构货架使用安全与评估规范.

GB/T 41514-2022 tells inspectors how to judge whether a steel structure storage rack that is already in service is still safe.

It specifies the in-use safety inspection, the safety assessment, the principles of risk assessment and its control, and the assessment report, and it applies to the damage assessment of steel structure racks as a whole, of their components and of their important nodes.

It defines safety evaluation as the inspection and measurement of the damage of the rack and its components together with the rating of its risk, and residual deformation as the plastic deformation a load-bearing member keeps after the goods are removed.

Terms come from JB/T 10823 and WB/T 1042, and the rack types are those of the WB/T 1044 to 1077 series. It was issued on 11 July 2022 and has applied since 1 February 2023.

This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for Standardization Work Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents" drafted.

1 Scope

This document specifies the use safety inspection, safety assessment, risk assessment principles and control, and the assessment report of steel structure racks (hereinafter referred to as racks).

This document is applicable to the damage assessment of all kinds of steel structure racks as a whole and components in all kinds of steel structure racks, as well as important nodes.

The contents of the following documents constitute essential provisions of this document through normative references in the text. Among them, dated citations documents, only the version corresponding to that date applies to this document; for undated references, the latest edition (including all amendments) applies to this document.

3 Terms and Definitions

The terms and definitions defined in JB/T 10823, WB/T 1042 and the following apply to this document.

3.1 Safety evaluation

The process of inspecting and measuring the damage of the whole shelf and its components, and evaluating its risk level.

3.2 Residual deformation

After the cargo is unloaded, the load-bearing member does not completely return to its original state, but retains the amount of plastic deformation.
