Scope

GB/T 41328-2022 is the English-translated version of 生物天然气.

GB/T 41328-2022 is the Chinese national standard for biogas-based natural gas, the gas made by upgrading biogas to pipeline quality.

It gives the technical requirements - the methane content, the Wobbe index, the water and oxygen content and the limits on sulphur, siloxanes and other impurities - the sampling and inspection rules, the test methods and the requirements on transport, marking, storage and safety of use.

It applies to the natural gas produced by purifying or methanating methane-bearing feed gases such as biogas, biomass pyrolysis gas and landfill gas. Plant operators and gas utilities use it. Issued on 9 March 2022, it has applied since 1 October 2022.

6 Test methods

6.1 Component determination and calculation of high calorific value

Use the methods specified in GB/T 13610, GB/T 33445, GB/T 37182, or other equivalent methods to determine the hydrogen content, oxygen content, nitrogen content, carbon dioxide content, carbon monoxide content, methane content, ethane content, propane content, isobutane content, n-butane content, neopentane content, isopentane content, n-pentane content, hexane content, heptane content and heavier alkane component content, olefinic component content and ammonia content in biogas- based natural gas. When there is any objection to the determination results, use the method specified in GB/T 13610 as the arbitration method.

The calculation of the high calorific value of biogas-based natural gas shall be performed according to GB/T 11062.

6.2 Determination of hydrogen sulfide content

Use GB/T 33318, GB/T 28727, GB/T 37182 to determine the hydrogen sulfide content in the biogas-based natural gas; use the methods specified in GB/T 33318, GB/T 11060.4, GB/T 11060.8 or other equivalent methods to determine the total sulfur content in biogas-based natural gas. When there is any objection to the above determination results, use the method specified in GB/T 33318 as the arbitration method.

6.3 Determination of total sulfur content

Use GB/T 33318, GB/T 11060.4, GB/T 11060.8 or other equivalent methods to determine the total sulfur content in biogas-based natural gas. When there is any objection to the determination results, use the method specified in GB/T 33318 as the arbitration method.
