Scope

GB/T 37182-2018 is the English-translated version of 气体分析 等离子发射气相色谱法.

GB/T 37182-2018 gives a method for determining trace components in gases with a gas chromatograph fitted with a plasma emission detector.

It applies to high purity, industrial and standard gases such as hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, helium, argon and neon, and to hydrocarbons such as alkanes and benzene, over a range of 0.05x10^-6 to 10x10^-6 as volume fraction.

It explains the principle, in which the separated component forms a plasma in a quartz cell and its emitted light is converted into an electrical signal, and describes the instrument and its gas paths.

The content is calculated by comparison with a standard gas. It is used by gas producers and analytical laboratories. The standard was issued on 28 December 2018 and has applied since 1 November 2019.

Foreword

This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.

1 Scope

This standard specifies a method for the determination of trace components in gases using a gas chromatograph equipped with a plasma emission detector.

This standard applies to high purity gas, industrial gas, standard gas and other gases such as hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, helium, argon, helium, neon and Determination of hydrocarbon components such as alkane and benzene. The measurement range is 0.05 x 10^-6~10 x 10^-6 (volume fraction).

2 Normative references

The following documents are indispensable for the application of this document. For dated references, only dated versions apply to this document. For undated references, the latest edition (including all amendments) applies to this document.

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 Plasma emission detector

A device that converts an optical signal of a characteristic spectrum generated after a gas component to be tested forms a plasma into an electrical signal.

4 Principle

The gas component separated by the carrier gas through the column forms a plasma in the quartz cell by the action of an electromagnetic field, and the plasma of the gas component to be tested The light emitted by the body is filtered and selected to convert the optical signal into an electrical signal by photoelectric conversion, and the content of the gas component to be tested is stronger than the electrical signal.

The degree has a proportional relationship, and the content of the gas component to be tested is calculated by comparing the standard sample signal with the signal of the component to be tested.

5 Instruments

5.1 Overview

The basic composition and requirements of the instrument shall comply with the provisions of GB/T 30431.

The detection limit of the instrument should meet the requirements of the inspection task.

5.2 Common gas path of the instrument

5.2.1 Basic process

The basic procedure is mainly used for the determination of components in helium, see Figure A.1 in Appendix A.
