Scope
GB/T 41016-2021 is the English-translated version of 水回用导则 再生水厂水质管理.
GB/T 41016-2021 is a water reuse guideline on how reclaimed water plants manage the quality of the water they produce. It sets the objectives of water quality management and the measures, testing, monitoring, reporting and management systems that support them.
It defines a water reclamation plant as an enterprise that takes sewage, or effluent from sewage treatment plants meeting GB 8978 or GB 18918, as its source to produce and supply reclaimed water, and treats water quality management as the control of each key step of the treatment process against the water quality requirements.
It refers to GB/T 19538 on HACCP and to the national reclaimed water quality standards for urban miscellaneous use, landscape, industry, farmland irrigation, green space irrigation and groundwater recharge. It was issued on 31 December 2021 and has applied since 1 July 2022.

1 Scope
This document specifies the objectives, measures, testing, monitoring and reporting and systems for water quality management in reclaimed water plants.

3 Terms and Definitions
The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 19538 and GB/T 21534 and the following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Water reclamation plants
Enterprises that use sewage or the effluent of sewage treatment plants that meet the discharge standard GB 8978 or GB 18918 as the water source to produce and supply reclaimed water.
3.2 Water quality management
For the purpose of water quality assurance, control and improvement, the management process of each key link of the treatment process of the reclaimed water plant according to the water quality requirements.
