Scope
GB/T 36380-2025 is the English-translated version of 工业废硫酸的处理处置规范.
GB/T 36380-2025 is the Chinese national standard covering what a plant does with sulfuric acid it can no longer use — the pretreatment of the spent acid, the high temperature cracking, the multi-stage negative pressure concentration and crystallisation and the carbonisation reduction routes that give acid back rather than neutralise it away, the disposal of what cannot be recovered, and the control of the process and the product. It replaces GB/T 36380-2018, under the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation. In force from 1 February 2026. Issued on 1 August 2025, it has been in force since 1 February 2026, replacing GB/T 36380-2018.

Foreword
This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for standardization work Part 1: Structure and drafting rules for standardization documents" Drafting.
This document replaces GB/T 36380-2018 "Specification for the treatment and disposal of industrial waste sulfuric acid".
In addition to structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.
a) Added “Terms and Definitions” (see Chapter 3);
b) Added “Requirements” (see Chapter 4);
c) Deleted the low-temperature regeneration of waste sulfuric acid, medium-temperature regeneration of waste sulfuric acid, and high-temperature regeneration treatment and disposal methods for waste sulfuric acid (see the 2018 edition 3.1, 3.2, 3.3);
d) Added pretreatment methods for industrial waste sulfuric acid (see 5.1);
e) Added high temperature cracking method for industrial waste sulfuric acid, multi-stage negative pressure concentration purification (crystallization) method, waste sulfuric acid carbonization reduction method and industrial Disposal methods for waste sulfuric acid (see 5.2).
