Scope

GB/T 40354-2021 is the English-translated version of 铁质不粘锅.

GB/T 40354-2021 is the Chinese national standard for household cookware made of iron with a non-stick coating on the surface that touches food.

It covers pans whose substrate is iron plate or cast iron, including composite materials with an iron inner surface, used for stir-frying, steaming, rice cooking and similar tasks; baking appliances are excluded.

The standard defines the base material, the non-stick coating and the heat-resistant coating, and sets out product categories, requirements, test methods and inspection rules.

Its annexes show typical product structures and describe the handle firmness test for frying pans, the handle flame retardant test and the handle torsional strength test, and it also covers marking, labels, instructions for use, packaging, transportation and storage. It was issued on 20 August 2021 and has applied since 1 March 2022.

1 Scope

This document specifies the terms and definitions, product classification, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, Signs, labels, instructions for use and packaging, transportation, and storage.

This document is applicable to the use of iron plates and cast iron as substrates (including composite materials with iron internal surfaces), and the use of non-ferrous materials in contact with food Household food cooking utensils treated with sticky coating. 3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 Base material

The material that constitutes the base of the iron non-stick pan does not include surface coating and metal plating.

3.2 Non-stick coating

The inner surface of the pot is painted to form a non-stick coating.

3.3 Heat resistant coating

Special paint that can withstand temperatures above 200°C.
