Scope

GB/T 36509-2018 is the English-translated version of 滑翔伞结构强度要求及测试方法.

GB/T 36509-2018 sets the structural strength requirements for paragliders and the tests used to check them. It describes the composition of a paraglider, including the canopy, suspension lines, risers, control lines and the harness, and defines these parts with reference to HB 6634-1992.

For the canopy and lines it specifies requirements for impact overload, static load and suspension line bending fatigue, together with the matching test equipment, samples and test methods; for the harness it gives a series of tests in six loading states.

It closes with the content of the test report and the archiving of test records. The standard applies to strength testing of paraglider structures, was issued on 13 July 2018 and has applied since 1 February 2019.

1 Scope

This standard specifies the composition, technical requirements, test methods, test reports and archiving requirements of paragliders.

This standard applies to the strength test of paragliding structures.

3.1 Paraglider

Both take-off and landing are carried out on foot, with ultra-light stamping parachutes without major rigid structures.

3.2 Seat bag

The fixed connection between the pilot and the paraglider has the function of transmitting and distributing loads.

3.3 Umbrella rope

A rope or belt used to transfer pneumatic loads and maintain the shape of the canopy. [HB6634-1992, Definition 3.3.2]

3.4 Umbrella canopy

Produces an aerodynamic fabric surface. [HB6634-1992, Definition 3.3.1]

3.5 Manipulator with riser

A connecting belt that transfers aerodynamic loads between the parachute and the pilot.

3.6 Control rope

A rope used to change the speed and direction of paragliding.

3.7 Paragliders of the same structure

A paraglider that is manufactured in the same material and processing method and whose umbrella area and length of the rope are scaled by a certain ratio.
