GB/T 35608-2024 is the English-translated version of 绿色产品评价 绝热材料.
GB/T 35608-2024 is the Chinese green product assessment standard for thermal insulation materials. Insulation is the rare product whose environmental case is overwhelmingly positive, since the energy it saves over a building's life dwarfs the energy used to make it, but the differences between materials are real: the blowing agents of some foams have high global warming potential, some products carry flame retardants of concern, and the fire performance of an insulant has consequences that the last decade has made unmistakable. The standard sets the basic requirements a product must meet before assessment and then the evaluation indicators grouped as resource, energy, environmental and quality attributes, covering the thermal conductivity and the thickness needed for a given performance, the recycled content, the manufacturing energy and emissions, the blowing agent and its global warming potential, the restricted substances and the emissions in use, the durability and the fire behaviour, each with its limit and verification method. It takes effect on 1 January 2025.

Foreword
This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for standardization work Part
1.Structure and drafting rules for standardization documents" Drafting is required. This document replaces GB/T 35608-2017 "Green Product Evaluation of Thermal Insulation Materials". Compared with GB/T 35608-2017, except for the structural In addition to adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:
a) The scope of application of the standard has been changed (see Chapter 1, Chapter 1 of the.2017 edition);
b) Added two levels of green benchmark product value and green product value in the benchmark value as well as low-carbon attribute requirements (see 4.2);
