Foreword

This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part

1.Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents". Drafting. This document is Part 1 of GB/T 32852 "Terminology for Urban Passenger Transport". GB/T 32852 has already published the following parts.

6.Urban Passenger Ferry This document supersedes GB/T 32852.1-2016 "Urban Passenger Transport Terminology Part

1.General Terminology" and is consistent with GB/T 32852.1-2016. In comparison, aside from structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:

a) Added the terms "travel", "running time deviation", "urban water passenger transport", "rental bicycle transport", and "other urban passenger transport". and definitions (see 3.1.1, 3.1.18, 3.2.3,

3.2.6 and 3.2.7);

b) Changes were made to "Mode of Travel", "Urban Passenger Transport", "Transport Capacity", "Service Quality", "Urban Public Transport", "Rated Standing Density", and "Effectiveness". "Standing area", "Number of standing spaces", "Rated passenger capacity", "Urban public transport lines", "Train intervals", "Peak hours", "Urban rail" Terms and definitions for "transportation", "public bus and trolleybus transportation", and "taxi transportation" (see 3.1.2, 3.1.3, 3.1.7, 3.1.8, 3.1.11~) 3.1.17, 3.1.19, 3.2.1, 3.2.2, and 3.2.4;.2016 versions 2.1.6, 2.1.1, 2.1.13, 5.4.2, 2.1.2, and 2.1.15~2.1.18. 2.1.22, 2.1.29, 2.1.31, 2.2.1.2,

2.2.1.1 and 2.2.2);

c) The terms and definitions for "urban passenger transport enterprises," "urban passenger transport signs," and "car rental transportation" have been changed (see 3.1.4, 3.1.5, and 3.1.5). 3.2.5 (Versions 2.1.9, 2.1.10, and

2.2.3 from the.2016 version);

d) The following terms have been removed. "City Public Transportation Pass", "Public Transportation Service Quality", "Standards", "Total Route Length", and "Public Transportation Network". "Route network length", "Public transportation station coverage area", "Delay time", "Public transportation mode", "Bus Rapid Transit", "City" Terms and definitions for "city passenger ferry," "city passenger ropeway," "city passenger cable car," and "city public bicycle transportation" (see.2016). 1 Scope

GB/T 32852.1-2025 is the Chinese national standard covering the general vocabulary of urban passenger transport - the modes and the services, the network and the lines, the capacity and the frequency, the fare and the interchange, and the performance terms an authority contracts an operator against. Part 1 of the series. It replaces GB/T 32852.1-2016, under the Ministry of Transport. In force from 1 February 2026. Issued on 5 October 2025, it has been in force since 1 February 2026, replacing GB/T 32852.1-2016.

This document defines the basic terminology for urban passenger transport, as well as the terms related to planning and facilities, vehicles, operation and services, safety and emergency response, and information systems. Terminology and definitions related to maintenance, repair, and technical and economic indicators. This document applies to planning, construction, operation, and supervision activities in the field of urban passenger transport.
