GB/T 35174-2017 specifies how the on-board intelligent terminal of an urban bus or trolleybus exchanges data with the equipment expanded from it.

Clause 1 states that the standard lays down the overall system framework, the protocol composition, the semantics and grammar, the data frames, the message frames and the sessions of the data communication between the city bus vehicle terminal and the expansion equipment, and that it applies where that communication runs over the 485 asynchronous serial communication interface or a Controller Area Network (CAN); no exclusion is stated.

The draft stops at the end of that last definition, so the system framework, protocol, frame and session clauses are not shown in text.

The standard was proposed by and is managed by the National Intelligent Transport System Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/TC268), with the Ministry of Transportation Highway Science Research Institute first among a long list of drafting units.
