1 Scope

GB/T 32852.3-2024 is the Chinese vocabulary of urban rail transit, the terminology part of the urban passenger transport series. China has built more metro track in the last two decades than the rest of the world combined, and the vocabulary that grew up with it is not always the one used elsewhere; this document fixes it. It is organised the way an operating company is: the basic terms, covering urban rail transit itself, construction, operation, networked operation and the rest; then twenty-four pages on facilities and equipment, the largest clause, covering the line, the stations, the vehicles, the power supply, the signalling and communications, the depots and the mechanical and electrical systems; then train operation, covering the timetable, the operating organisation, the dispatching and the handling of disruption; then passenger operation, covering the passenger flow organisation, the service and the emergency arrangements; and then ticketing.
