Scope
GB/T 31988-2015 is the English-translated version of 印制电路用铝基覆铜箔层压板.
GB/T 31988-2015 specifies the product classification, identification, structure and materials, appearance, size and performance requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, labeling, transportation and storage of aluminium base copper clad laminate for printed circuits.
Clause 1 states that it applies to aluminum printed circuits copper clad laminates, which the standard abbreviates to aluminum clad. Clause 2 cites GB/T 2036, GB/T 3198, GB/T 3880.1, GB/T 3880.2, GB/T 3880.3, GB/T 4722 and GB/T 5230.
Clause 3 adopts the terms of GB/T 2036 and adds definitions for thermal conductivity, homogeneous material, thermal resistance and the laminate itself, described as a composite sheet made of aluminium sheet, an insulating adhesive layer and copper foil; the draft breaks off in the middle of that last definition.
The contents list clause 4 Categories, Types and Identification, clause 5 structures and materials, clause 6 Requirement with appearance, size and performance requirements, clause 7 Test methods, clause 8 Inspection Rules and clause 9 packaging, labeling, transportation and storage.
Clause 7 runs from appearance and size through thermal conductivity of the insulating bonding layer, thermal resistance, peel strength, flammability, thermal stress, glass transition temperature, chemical resistance, electric strength, volume and surface resistivity, dielectric constant and dielectric loss tangent, comparative tracking index, the withstanding voltage (Hi-pot) test and water absorption, while clause 8 is divided into identification test, quality conformance inspection, clearances and the material safety data sheet.
Two normative appendices close the document, Appendix A on thermal resistance and thermal conductivity test methods and Appendix B on the withstanding voltage (Hi-pot) test.
The page files the standard under ICS 31.180 and Chinese classification L30. It was issued on 11 September 2015 and has applied since 1 May 2016.

3 Terms and Definitions
GB/T 2036 defined by the following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Thermal conductivity
Under steady state, through the material per unit time per unit area and the temperature gradient perpendicular to the direction of heat flow area.
Note: For non-homogeneous materials, this is the apparent thermal conductivity, in this standard, referred to as thermal conductivity, the unit opened in Watts per meter [W/(m . K)] FIG.
3.2 Homogeneous material
The nature of any position inside are the same material.
3.3 Thermal resistance
Heat resistance in heat flow path encountered reflect the size of the heat transfer capability of the medium or media room, indicating the heat per unit area 1W The size of the temperature rise caused.
Note: The thermal resistance per watt unit with a square opening [m2 . K/W] FIG.
3.4 Aluminum copper clad laminates
Sheet aluminum, the insulating adhesive layer and a copper foil three kinds of composite sheet material, referred to as the aluminum clad. It is used to make printed circuits
