GB/T 30954-2014 is the English-translated version of 水文自动测报系统 通用设备.
GB/T 30954-2014 is the general equipment standard for the automatic system used to measure and forecast hydrological data.
Clause 1 states that it specifies the product categories and composition, the type designation, the requirements, the test methods, the inspection rules and the packaging, labelling, transportation and storage of the general equipment of the hydrological automatic monitoring system, and that it applies to the research and development, design, production, testing and use of all kinds of such equipment, which it calls hydrologic telemetry equipment, and to the preparation of standards for related products; no exclusion is stated.
Clause 2 cites GB/T 9359-2001, GB/T 9969, GB/T 17626.5-2008, GB/T 17626.8-2006, GB/T 18185-2000, GB/T 18522.4, GB/T 18522.6, GB/T 19677-2005, GB/T 19704-2005, GB/T 19705-2005, SL/T 102-1995 and SL 108-2006, and clause 3 adds no term of its own, adopting those established in GB/T 19677-2005.

Clause 4 opens with 4.1 Classification, which divides the equipment into hydrologic telemetry sensors, among them telemetry rain gauges, water level gauges, gate meters and evaporators; telemetry data acquisition devices, including the various telemetry terminals referred to as RTU together with telemetry data transmission devices, hydrological data collection instruments and automatic signal acquisition products; and telemetry data relay apparatus, including relay units and terminal equipment that also relays data.
The draft breaks off in the middle of that list, so the rest of the classification, the composition and type designation and the whole of the requirement, test method, inspection, marking and packaging clauses are not shown.

1 Scope
This standard specifies the hydrological automatic monitoring system common equipment product categories and composition, type designation and requirements, test methods, inspection regulations As well as the packaging, labeling, transportation and storage.
This standard applies to all kinds of hydrological automatic monitoring system General Equipment (hereinafter referred to as hydrologic telemetry equipment) R & D, design, production, testing, Use standard preparation and related products and so on.

4 Classification and composition, type designation
4.1 Classification
Hydrological telemetry equipment is usually divided into the following categories of products.
a) hydrologic telemetry sensors. it includes a variety of telemetry rain gauges, water level gauge telemetry, telemetry gate meter, telemetry evaporator and other products;
b) telemetry data acquisition devices. including a variety of telemetry terminals (referred to as the RTU, including telemetry data transmission device, hydrological data collection instrument, Automatic signal acquisition and other similar products);
c) Telemetry data relay apparatus. including all kinds of relay unit and part of the terminal equipment has a data relay function, and other products;
