Scope

GB/T 28612-2023 is the English-translated version of 绿色制造 术语.

GB/T 28612-2023 covers the vocabulary of green manufacturing — the terms that the research, the project work, the evaluation and the services around it are all written on top of. It carries no normative references and works instead through three groups of definitions: the basic terminology, starting from sustainable development and the notions built on it; the terminology of the product life cycle stages, running from design and materials through manufacture and use to the end of a product's life; and the terminology of green management and service, which names the organisational and commercial arrangements around a plant rather than the process inside it. A vocabulary looks like dead weight until two parties disagree. Green manufacturing is assessed, scored, certified and increasingly written into procurement conditions, and every one of those uses breaks down when the term for a factory's environmental performance, or for the chain of suppliers standing behind it, means one thing to the applicant and something else to the reviewer. Fixing the words is what lets the evaluation standards that cite them be applied consistently. Of use to manufacturers preparing green factory and green product submissions, the evaluation and certification bodies that review them, and the drafters of further standards in the field.

Foreword

This document was issued on 7 September 2023 by the State Administration for Market Regulation; Standardization Administration of the PRC and takes effect on 1 January 2024.

It is a GB/T standard: recommended rather than compulsory, but it is the text a Chinese reviewer applies when assessing a submission.

It is classified under ICS 13.020.99, Chinese classification Z04.

It replaces GB/T 28612-2012, which is superseded.

This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part 1.Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents"

1 Scope

3 Basic terminology

3.1

Development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet the needs of future generations.

Factors such as industrial structure, energy resources, ecological environment, health and safety, climate change, etc., and integrate green development concepts and management requirements throughout the entire production process of products.

During the life cycle, in-depth changes in manufacturing models will be used to promote the green transformation and upgrading of traditional industries, lead the green development of emerging industries, and collaboratively promote carbon reduction,
