Scope

GB/T 28270-2012 is the English-translated version of 智能型阀门电动装置.

China's national standard for intelligent valve electric actuators. It specifies the terminology, the technical requirements, the test methods, the inspection rules and the marking, packaging, transport and storage of the electric actuators that operate valves under their own control, and it applies to the direct-drive on-off and modulating intelligent actuators. A valve actuator turns a valve, which sounds like a motor and a gearbox and for most of the twentieth century was one. What makes an actuator intelligent is that the control that used to live in a cabinet somewhere lives inside it: position sensing, torque sensing, the logic that decides whether a valve has reached its seat or has jammed, the local display and configuration, and a digital interface to the plant control system. That relocation changes what the device is and therefore what a standard for it must cover. A conventional actuator was specified by its torque, its speed and its duty rating, and everything else was the responsibility of whoever wired it. An intelligent actuator carries its own commissioning: the end positions are set from the keypad rather than by mechanical limit switches, the torque limits are set in software, and the actuator itself decides how to close - on position, on torque, or on a combination - according to the valve it is fitted to. It also reports: the position, the torque signature, the operating count, the temperature and the fault log, which is what allows a valve to be maintained on evidence rather than on a schedule. So the standard specifies the mechanical output, the electrical supply and protection, the control interface, the configuration and self-diagnosis, and the environmental protection of a device that lives outdoors on a pipeline. Issued on 11 May 2012 and in force since 1 December 2012.

1 Scope

Issued on 11 May 2012 and in force since 1 December 2012.

This standard specifies the intelligent electric valve actuators (hereinafter referred to as Intelligent Denso) terminology, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking Chi, packaging, transport and storage conditions. This standard applies to direct drive motor switching, intelligent modulating electrical equipment.
