Scope

GB/T 26952-2025 is the English-translated version of 焊缝无损检测磁粉检测验收等级.

Once magnetic particle testing finds an indication in a weld, someone has to decide whether it is acceptable. This standard sets out acceptance levels for indications from imperfections in ferromagnetic steel welds detected by magnetic particle testing. The levels are intended mainly for examination during manufacture, and they may also be used for in-service inspection. Acceptance levels for grouped indications are not covered. It is a recommended national standard.

Welding fabricators, NDT contractors, inspection bodies, pressure equipment and structural steel manufacturers and their customers can use it to define what is accepted or rejected. The levels can be linked to welding standards, application standards, specifications or codes.

It was issued on 31 October 2025 and takes effect on 1 February 2026, replacing GB/T 26952-2011.

This edition replaces GB/T 26952-2011.
